IIS STEFANI BENTEGODI is one of the most important  Technical and Vocational school for Agriculture in Veneto Region (north-eas of Italy), with approximately 1770 students.

The headquarters are in Isola della Scala (Verona), while there are four other institutes in the province of Verona.

Our school is a Technical Secondary  School for Agriculture based in Buttapietra, not far from Verona.

After the first two common years our students can choose one of the following courses: “Production and transformation”, “Environmental management”, “Viticulture and Enology”. Currently in Buttapietra we have around 500 students, from 14 to 19 years of age. At the end of their courses they will be able to go to university, to be employed in firms of the agrarian and agroindustry fields, or to be self-employed as Surveyors or Advisors.

This year a new course of Further Education has been activated. It is a two-year course on Sustainable Agriculture, where students specialize in Organic Farming Practices and Marketing after the conclusion of secondary school.

On our school farm there are around 50 ha, where we cultivate cereal crops and fruits; there is also a vineyard. We also have a beekeeping activity and some greenhouses for the cultivation of strawberries and flowers.

A small part of the farm is conventionally cultivated, whereas a growing part of it is being converted into Organic. In three years it will be totally organic.

We can carry out good practices at school and on our school farm, which are strictly connected, as students and teachers work together in both of them. We also have good connections with the territory of our region, which is one of the most advanced in the fields of Agriculture and Food, and work in cooperation with important Associations of entrepreneurs.

Our school has elementary and secondary levels, 200 teachers, 67 members of the staff, and 1238 students (from age 10 to 18).
The school it´s situated at Funchal, the principal city from Madeira Island, Portugal, it was created at 1978, just after the portuguese revolution in 1974, when the democratic regime made very important advances in education.
Nowadays, the school has a diverse educational offer, including the Regular Education from 5th to 12th year, the Vocational Education and Courses of Education and Training, in order to prepare young people in our society to the work market and the future increasingly competitive, not neglecting the appreciation and respect for diversity.
The School offers a structured teaching unit for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and includes students with other special educational needs in their classes.
Almost all of the students, those who follow the regular curriculum, are full time with their classes. Those who are notable to follow the regular curriculum and have a specific curriculum designed according to their needs are part-time and in some subjects in the class to which they belong to.
Even though the school has developed measures to fight school failure and early school leaving, which have shown some positive effects, our school intends to increasingly act on prevention, thus avoiding the significant number of retentions.

Since 2016 the school has been involved in several Erasmus + projects and the positive impact of these projects is already evident in our school. Most of these projects are in the area of Special Education and the educational service to SEN students has improved in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. But our school has other concerns and with the participation in this project we intend to: improve students results, reduce early school drop-out,  modernise teaching methodologies,  increase the number of outdoor learning  activities and get to know  other resources and methodologies to be applied in the teaching/learning process.
Today, we know that students need different methodologies to learn better and we would like to improve learning and teaching quality in our school.
